The guild sponsors many on-going activities, each led by a member volunteer.

Guild members are welcome to participate in any of these activities.  Time is provided during the meeting break, and also before the meeting is convened to visit the tables around the perimeter of the meeting room to learn more about the opportunities to become involved.

AQS Book Orders >>>>>

Guild members combine their buying power to save money when purchasing books through the American Quilter's Society book mail order program. For a list of the the titles offered by AQS, click here.

To email Bobbi F to place an order or to enter a subscription to Fons and Porter's Love of Quilting magazines, use this link:  Send E-mail to AQS Coordinator

<<<<< Block of the Month

Each month, participating members may make a block according to the instructions provided by the BOM coordinator, Lorraine M.   When the blocks are returned at the following month's meeting, a drawing is held and the lucky participant will take home enough for an 'instant' quilt top.

Consumer Update >>>>>

At each meeting, Randee T brings us a report on a product that will make a quilter's life easier, happier, or maybe just more fun.  She especially enjoys finding items that weren't originally marketed as a quilter's tool.

<<<<< Door Prizes

Guild members bring presents in their own birth month (or anytime) which become door prizes for the meeting.  Volunteers, Debbie N and Cindy S coordinate the fun.

Fat Quarters >>>>>
With a monthly theme, anyone can bring in a few fat quarters of fabrics and maybe go home with a collection.  Volunteer Kate D coordinates.
<<<<< Greeter

Visitors to guild meetings are given a warm welcome, a guided tour, and an introduction to other guild members by guild greeter, Deborah W (in red).

Information Specialist >>>>>

When there is news that won't wait until the next meeting, Information Specialist Debra D sends a message via email to any member who wishes to be part of the CPQG E-Tree.

<<<<< Library

The guild library commutes to and from meetings in the capable hands of guild Librarian Marion W.

Retreat >>>>>

Each year, the guild sponsors a retreat of (up to) four days at the Chanco on the James Retreat Center.  Participants can sew and quilt till the wee hours of the morning or take a break and walk in the woods overlooking the James River.  Mary Frances B coordinates.

<<<<< Service Projects

The guild's primary service projects support Avalon, Faith in Action, and the Madison Retirement Center, by providing quilts for children, seniors, and shut-ins.  Members are encouraged to create blocks or tops using the packets prepared by husband and wife coordinators, Randee and Darrell T, or using their own supplies.  An annual workshop is dedicated to completing as many quilts as possible.

Sunshine >>>>>

When troubles come to our fellow quilters, Suzi W, the Sunshine coordinator sends good wishes on behalf of the guild.

White Elephant >>>>>

One guild member's trash is another guild member's treasure!  Katherine D coordinates the table where members can either donate quilt-related items, or maybe pick up a bargain.
